i've been prepping like crazy since i walked in the door yesterday after work. making making making...i feel a little like my eyeballs look like the cheshire cats in alice in wonderland...know what i mean? they are all like spinning around in this psycho way...

today i cut out millions of glass pieces destined for necklaces, bracelets, rings, magnets, pins....!

after that, i hit the sewing machine to applique myself into oblivion!!!

salami neck meat...

this post is for my virginian meat lover boy in the house. so i'm riding on the bus home, after a long day. i'm trying to go to my meditation zone, back of the bus, loud, SCREAMING obnoxious kids...eyes shut, sunglasses on, breathing..........when what to my wondering neck should appear? but 3 salami slices stuck to the side of my neck & ear...salami neck meat. crazy children have thrown salami at me. at my neck. salami neck meat kinda day. of course i am obviously a little stressed and strung out b/c instead of ignoring, or simply removing the salami, (which would have been the wise thing to do), i throw it back...i have sunk to their level. not only do i throw it back, but i begin to yell too...loudly. and then i stand up, on the moving bus, with salami stuck to my neck and yell some more. these punk kids get up too, yell back, try to steal my bags, and start to threaten me...lovely. and what do the other bus passengers do? nothing. not a thing. they all stand there and stare at this going down. so i have to crawl around the threatening large throng of kids with salami stuck to my head and get up to the front of the bus, which is like a mile away b/c it's one of those busses that kink in the middle and then keep going, all the while, kids yelling, throwing, people watching, me screaming, "bus driver, bus driver, excuse me, excuse me, excuse me, BUS DRIVERRRRRRRRRR!" the kids of course scram off the back of the bus as soon as i make it up to the front and tell the driver to get these kids off b/c they are throwing SALAMI (i don't even eat meat, i rather abhor it - my friend j. says i summoned the meat gods...) at me and threatening me...

needless to say, not a great day. and candy kid b. ---- not the best jenifer day. ;( boo hoo. i need a cocktail.

at least tomorrow is friday. & this weekend brings TOTAL sprout production time...

rollins rocked my world

i truly loved him. laughed. cried. nodded my head vigorously for a couple of hours. he was wonderful. and we got a picture of him holding our gnome...more on that later...hee hee!

that's all for now. must stick head in sand and ignore all else and prep for renegade.......ahhhhhh!!!!

trunk show, rollins, a gamillion house guests???

so, i feel a little like my world could spiral out of control. trunk show this evening (as yet, i sit at work and am a little unprepared...eek), we leave for big sur tomorrow to go see henry rollins (the mr.'s idea...i think it should be good) - but it's going to be an all male trip + me...we know how that goes, i'm very familiar with this kind of a trip, most of the time it involves loads of skateboards and stinky pad paraphanalia...no such goodies this time. but we are all camping saturday night in big sur which should be nice. come back sunday to building bbq and showing our place to subletters...so it's not very clean now and i'm not quite sure how clean it's going to get by sunday...another eek.

let me just tell you this: we have a houseguest/assistant to the mr. for a big shoot coming to stay tonight. we have another houseguest/helper to the mr. coming sunday night. then they are here for FOUR weeks - pretty much until we leave to go east for the summer. then, we have a lovely couple coming to stay in our absence over memorial day weekend - we will be in norfolk, va for another wedding, and 4 people who don't really know one another (except for the couple) will be staying in our place - ha! they'll probably have a big throw down party and have a better time than when we throw them and are there! okay, after that, the tuesday following memorial day i have my 2 best girlfriends flying out with their THREE little boys between them to stay also - and also until we leave for the summer; so count them...in the span of 4 weeks there will be NINE people in and out of our house - this includes kiddos, which is another ball of wax all together.......oh my. the two of us, 2 guys, 2 other females and 3 little boys allllllllllll in our open plan loft...i guess it's going to be like a big ole grand camp out or something in our place.........

...and then there is this pesky, minute show i need to prepare for which is RENEGADE!!!!! - the biggest show of the year, when pray tell do i produce for that???!!

tatoo's, summer, friends, subletting.

i really think i'm going to do it this summer. i've been saying it since before the late 90's. a tatoo. i am so inspired by so much good lookin' art on people, i have to get some of my own...i think this summer might be it. & i'm leaning towards some margaret kilgallen art...oh, i'm going to have to be so brave, but i think i can do it. commitment in that area is what i become leary of...maybe for my birthday. for number 32. i should *get* the number 32 tattooed in red somewhere, within a little star. that would be nice...plus a little margaret art somewhere...hmmmmmm...

it's almost here. flip flops, skirts, bbq's (they'll be the real kind back east - big yards, large swaths of green, dogs running, kids playing, cocktails with loads of ice, deee-lish veggies, bay oysters roasting, friends lounging and languishing - because the humidity makes us a little bit this side of stupid - and nary a hoodie or cardigan to be worn allll night long.) & let's not forget the thrift stores & yard sales. oh yes. i am so unbelievably excited to go thrifting back in tidewater with my lovely of loveliest thrift store buddy, ms. jooooooo. she is the BEST companion to go with; we inevitably find AMAZING scores...i'm salivating already - when do we go jo?!

third topic. i love them. they are all over this darn world. and i want them closer. and i'm trying my best to woo them here. to not so much luck thus far. but i ain't stopping. no. they will come. i know they will come!

and subletting. 4th and final topic of the evening. (oop, no i thought of one more to discuss after this) i will be subletting my amazing industrial live/work loft for two months this summer - want it? got a friend? email me!!! in the finest city around. you'll love it!

now the final topic. sale sale sale at sprout studio. go snatch up my goodies so i can post new ones already!!!!!

does anyone notice a recurrent color theme in these pictures?! we grilled out last thursday; it was wonderful. i *love* grilled veggies. now that the sun is staying out later we can have our little urban Q's in style right outside. yum yum yummy!
