safe and sound...

...in virginia. still being production girl; a few days left to prep for renegade. once i hit ny though, which is wednesday evening, no more for me. what's done is done! started new eating regime for this girl (concerning ibs and some other not so lovely things, i'll spare you the deets). needless to say, i might be one level of stress less; like if my stress levels were akin to the national security levels, i might be orange, not red now. my aim is to be the absolute lowest when i touch down back in SF at the end of the summer - what is that, like blue? that's my goal. my friends grabbed a big ole bag of vintage fabrics for me at a garage sale yesterday; some cute stuff is in there; but it needs a good washing and air out; then i can play around with some of it! so my scores have already begun; many more are to be had; i can feel it!

the wedding was lovely - it's always interesting when 2 people come together; you have this amazing mix of people and 1/2 of them, most of the time, don't even know each other -- it's a strange dynamic to know someone soooo well (in my case the bride) and her man, who i sort of know, he's lovely too, but i don't know *any* of his friends - and we are all so very happy for them, jointly grinning and satisfied at our great people coming together; but it's still odd to be like, huh, who are you?!

we shot some photos but with my interim camera - i did finally get one - but i kid you not, all the photos are coming out blurry on me; and it's NOT me, i swear. it's that stinky camera. i didn't lose my touch that easily...so we'll see if i keep the interim camera...but i need an uploader to iphoto b/c i don't have one of those yet....but i may get a few up before we leave for ny insanity!!!!

off for now and back to making (well, if you must know, it's 11:20am here and i'm still in my pj's!!) ---- so really i'm off to shed the bunny slippers and get some cute threads to throw on! ;)

sprout studio break time (a mini one) (just from blogging) (never from making!!)

so, i'm flying east on thursday. in between sewing up a storm and packing all my goodies (b/c the mr. decided to *drive* east 2 days ago! eep!) (he better make it for the wedding...) i won't have an abundance of time for posting. but, i'll get back on the blogging wagon soon. saturday is another wedding for us of really wonderful friends that we don't get to see enough b/c we live on the west coast and they are on the east coast. but we also will get to see them in nyc b/c that is where they are spending their honeymoon and we'll be up there renegade-ing and art-ing it (and cock-tailing it) with our other lovely twospace and india romeo friends! hoorah for ny!

also, i'm compiling a list of some summer reads to check out at the local library while i'm in norfolk - any suggestions for me? some fav's of mine are mark helprin, anne lamott, madeleine l'engle...

the other fun things on my to do list are to experiment with the gocco, find fun vintage-y cool things at thrift stores, lounge at beach, learn to surf, drive on beaches in north carolina, eat yummy foods from grill, swing in a tire swing from big magnolia tree, take out friend's canoe at dusk each evening to watch sunset, wear lots of anti-mosquito bug spray, camp out in hatteras, play with nephew (who turns 1 the day before i turn 32!), go find lots of art to look at (which could be challenging in norfolk, so i'll be broadening my spectrum), write and sketch in journal for me and for sprout studio ideas, sit in lawn chair while sprinkler waters greeney grass, plant tomatoes in my friends garden and EAT them all right off the vine, drink lots of iced tea while porch sitting on all friends porches (that are all huge and marvelous in virginia), do lots of yoga, take lots of photos, do lots of wandering, de-stress, de-toxify, hang out with my momma & papa, hang out with the in-laws and other assorted relatives, and last but not least, try not to miss my crazy dixie-loo loo too overly much as i'll get all teary not being with her for 2 whole months...boo hooooo. (but she'll be with the best people ever taking care of her) (but i'll miss her sorely)...

so, for now, i probably won't be posting until sometime late this weekend - maybe i'll get to shoot some party wedding pics...we'll see (or maybe i'll just surprise you and post some nonsense anyways!)

went out to first thursday last night. when most of the galleries stay open later and have new art to show...this is what i liked! i'm off to another opening tonight and hopefully i'll shoot some fun stuff there to show and tell also. i'm a busy bee this weekend; it's my sewing weekend ahead...i'm bonding with that needle and thread machine over there...it's beckoning me to come and caress it's pedal alllllllllllll day long!

so i went to an absolutely lovely wedding this weekend; back in virginia. i love these two people. and he sang to her; "it had to be you" for the toast...it was quite wonderful! outside in an arboretum, under a chuppah handbuilt by the groom plus friends...words from 3 different couples about marriage at 3 different stages in life...worth feeling completely off right now for flying east and turning around and flying west!

time ramps up now to super high speed, more friends in town & cleaning ensues for the subletter, and more production and more packing to go east in 8 days!! eep!

so these are some of the shirts i'm playing around with...these babies are going to be available at renegade craft fair in brooklyn on june 17th & 18th! i know you'll come see me right? if you are dying *dying* for one of these cuties before hand, just give me a shout! i'll set one aside for you - they won't be up on ye ole sprout studio site until the end of june (i'm being realistic here guys!) i've got some other designs in the works too; i'll share those also BECAUSE!!!!!!...i scored myself a cute little nikon baby to shoot shoot shoot with; so hold on to your hats my dears, i will be an uploading photo fool here very soon! :) hooray; a more fun blog!! and i promise better photos; i'm a little out of practice, but i really am a better shooter than these here exemplify. so...11:49pm. so past my bedtime i can't even think straight...but i'm working on another project with an even closer deadline...
