v-day cards!

massive amounts of v-day cards getting ready to hit the post, originally uploaded by sproutgirl74 / jenifer lake.

the mister & i decided this year we would follow the lead of julia child & her husband paul & from henceforth & forever more send out handmade valentines rather than worry ourselves over holiday cards! we've done this once in the past, but i like to think this is a tradition we can keep up with. i printed one of my photos in postcard size from our europe trip - some street art with "life is beautiful" tagged down in one the london tube stations. it took us several long evening weekends & afternoons to get in the groove of taping, cutting, writing, markering, crafting, drawing magic - but we got them all done in time to at least drop them in the post a coupla days prior to v-day! phew!

we sent out more than 65! we loved hearing back from those that mentioned they received them (& so glad to know they made it as some of them had some funky business taped to them!)

3. the renegade craft fair (my umpteenth renegade!) december 17 & 18th! i'll be sharing with my friend lisa solomon, of modify-ed :)

wise women

i'm wearing my wise elephant brooch i made today for my wise woman mama & my original wise lady grammy who passed away yesterday..., originally uploaded by sproutgirl74 / jenifer lake.

lots going on over here. visitors in, visitors out. friends with babies being born, friends, including myself, with loved ones passing on. laughter & tears. smiles & sad frowns. in the betweens i've been posting things to my sprout studio etsy shop, instagraming all over the place, hoping for a new iphone, making plane flights to go back east for a memorial service, digging a 4 ft trench around my house for drainage, canning tomatoes, reveling in wearing shorts 3 days in a row, & pampering myself just yesterday with a mani/pedi. which i never do.

always lots going on. there's a piece of me that dreads the darkness in the morning that is coming when i wake up now, but a piece of me that cannot wait to start baking & soup making in the darker, quieter evenings.

HIYA!

i felt the need to speak loudly because it's been TOO LONG! good grief, send a girl on vacation & you never hear from her again.

i'm back, back, back. back to my teaching schedule & back to getting a few new sprout studio bits & bobs together & these are some of the sweet newness.

so, hello hello & i hope all of you are well. (ALL of you being only certain family members & my one friend that still reads here ;)

i have however, been reading up a storm, check out that updated reading list. i have been loving carving out less internets time & more reading time for myself. it's been good.

i am over on facebook (although i'm hating that new layout - you?) & having a love affair with instagram - if you are on there let me know so i can follow you. & of course, popping into twitter as well.
